STUDENTS from Chelfham Senior School have produced art work to purchase as part of an innovative project. ?Look at it this way? is a project involving art and craft work made from the students who reside at The Priory schools in the Tavistock area. It is part of a careers workshop hoping to integrate the young men into the working world, organised by Nikky Frobbs. Each piece of work, available at Tavistock Pannier Market every Wednesday, has its own story to tell and is often an insight into how they see and interpret the world. Chelfham Senior School, based at Bere Alston, is a place for young men aged 11 to 16 years with emotional and behavioral difficulties. It is where the students are encouraged to achieve their full potential in a living and learning environment where they feel safe. Alice Anstee, who collects their art work for the market stall, appeals for people to give some support to the students, she said: ?They work really hard. It all looks good and a lot of effort goes into the artwork.? She expressed thanks to Michael Souttar, deputy market reeve, and to Peter Clark from Dartmoor Photographic, for supporting them in this project.
