A CENTENNIAL Carnival Queen is being sought for this year?s Hatherleigh Carnival.
The carnival committee are now seeking carnival queen applicants to register before the deadline of April 30.
The same rules as always apply, nominees must be female, aged 12 years or over, live in the parishes of Hatherleigh, Meeth or Highampton and must be willing to sell carnival draw tickets. If you are interested, or would like more details please call Mandy Wonnacott on 01837 810678.
The successful candidate will be the person who sells the most carnival queen draw tickets.
She will receive 10% of all ticket sales over £100 and the committee have increased the grant to £100 and are hoping many candidates will come forward.
The committee are still short of names of previous carnival queens, and kings, for the ?Past Queens and Kings? evening in the town hall on June 7.
