Duchy Premier Sticker 1 Lamerton 4 LAMERTON continued their good run of form with another league victory. Sticker debuted five players for the game and looked far from being a bottom half of the table side. Some slick passing saw them outdo the lack lustre Lamerton side in the first 20 minutes. Lamerton did create the better chances however with Ben Rushall going close before the tenacious Steve Gibbings put the away side in front when he broke through from midfield to cleverly lob the keeper. Lamerton's Gibbings struck again moments later but was thwarted by a fine save from the home goalkeeper. Rushall went through again for Lamerton but shot at the keeper so the visitors were 1-0 at the break. The second half saw Sticker equalise when the Lamerton defence 'fell asleep,' letting in winger Paul Robbins to slip the ball under Pete Daniel. The away side stepped it up and with just under 20 minutes left, they retook the lead via Paul Cowling. He raced onto a Kev Swift through ball to slot home confidently. It was the crucial goal that allowed Lamerton to ease to victory. Mark Claridge set James Healy off down the left and with the Sticker defence unbalanced he squared for the onrushing Swift, who composed himself to neatly poke the ball home. A fine Sticker move then cut Lamerton apart and a rasping shot from the edge looked a certain goal but for the fingers of Daniel and the crossbar. Claridge provided down the right this time and Steve Roast wrapped up the game with a superb strike into the top corner after exchanging passes with Cowling on the edge of the box. Swift and Dave Byworth faced the Sticker keeper in the last few minutes and could have added further goals, but Lamerton were more than happy with the three points. l On Saturday Lamerton are at home to St Dennis, kick-off 2.30pm.
