FOR all those who fancy a ramble on the moors, Calstock Footpath society is straying from its usual walks around Calstock Parish, to host a moorland walk this Sunday (May 30), that takes in River Walkham in Sampford Spiney and a number of the local tors.

The route will include quiet country lanes and participants are advised there are some uphill stretches.

The walk is five to six-miles long and would be ideal for those who prefer to venture onto the moor in company.

Walkers should meet at the Dartmoor Inn, Merrivale, on the Tavistock to Princetown road at 11am on Sunday, May 30.

Strong shoes or walking boots will be needed as well as a packed lunch.
