ALTHOUGH since Christmas, the weather has not been golf-friendly, the ladies of Yelverton Golf Club played their monthly stableford on January 31.
The silver division was won by Gilly Jarvis with 34 points, Laura Eastwood was second with 31 points and Annette Sweeney third with 25 points.
The bronze division was won by Evelyn Dyche with 23 points, Angela Howard was second with 22 points and Joyce Martin third with 19 points.
The February stableford was played on St Valentine's Day, it was gloriously sunny but windy.
The silver division was won by Belinda McSherry with 30 points, Shirley Trevena was second with 29 points and Jean James third with 29 points.
The bronze division was won by Pat Taylor with 34 points, Helen Harris was second with 32 points and Lilias Strachan third with 28 points.
Gilly Jarvis, Belinda McSherry, Caroline Theyer and Marie Watson represented Yelverton ladies in the Mail on Sunday competition. They won their first round match 4-0 at home against Bigbury on February 12. The next round is to be played at Torquay.
Laura Eastwood recently spent a week in Portugal training with the English U18 girls' squad.
