CAMPAIGNERS in West Devon held a candlelit vigil last weekend to add their voices to the many worldwide calling for a meaningful agreement from the climate change talks currently taking place in Copenhagen.

Organiser of the event Cynthia Higbee said: 'The campaign was in response to an international demonstration of concern that the Copenhagen talks should come as a big deal and one that showed fairness for the developing countries.'

The Okehampton gathering, which was held in St James' Chapel, Okehampton, was one of more than 220 local events which took place across Britain on Saturday, December 12.
