A SPELLATHON at Whitchurch Primary School raised £1,000 for Mencap. The Spellathon was held from February 27 to March 3, with each class taking home spellings to learn over the half-term break. They returned fired up with enthusiasm and with parental support raised the sum to help Mencap train less advantaged children to learn sign language and provide toys and facilities.
