IN January 2005 I made a New Year resolution to sing, and I would like to encourage others to do the same for 2006. In fulfilling my own New Year resolution I discovered that Tavistock has an amazing resource that appears to be under used ? Joanna Wren and the Patchwork Choir. In the past year I have not only overcome a lifetime?s belief that I cannot sing and all the accompanying frustrations and barriers around this, I have actually joined a wonderful community choir where everyone has a go, has fun and produces the most wonderful music. If anyone else wants to sing, then make a New Year resolution for 2006 to come along to Tavistock?s Patchwork Choir and get your lungs working and a big smile on your face as Joanna tells you that the harmonies she hears are better than chocolate. It all happens on a Tuesday evening, from 7.30 at Kingdon House and starts again on January 17, nicely timed to fulfil that New Year resolution. Val Sharpe val.sharpe@ btinternet.com
