A REPRESENTATIVE from the Trussell Trust will visit Okehampton later this month to talk about the merits of the Christmas shoebox appeal.
Richard Parsons will visit All Saints Parish Church Hall on Tuesday, July 16 to discuss the scheme. Each year the charity takes thousands of shoeboxes filled with gifts to some of the poorest people in Bulgaria.
Among his talk will be what goes in a box, who receives them, and how the scheme has led to other opportunities for organisations.
Everyone is welcome, including those who collect for shoebox appeals other than the Trussell Trust appeal. There will also be Bulgarian biscuits, and tea and coffee.
The talk starts at 7pm.
