Tavistock 2nd XI 1
Liskeard 1
TAVITOCK hockey club seconds travelled to Liskeard with a much changed side, most of the usual midfield being absent.
The opposition were a young side who relied on their speed but whose defence lacked experience.
After attacking strongly at the start, Tavistock began to find themselves under pressure for long periods but the defence played well, Moyse making some good saves.
The relatively in experienced forwards were not as well supported by the veteran midfield whose legs did not propel them up the field as quickly as they once did.
Tavistock conceded a goal but with Townsend and Ralph pushing forward a number of short corners were won and the equaliser came when Ralph hit a hard shot into the D to be put in by Greenaway.
Glanville had a splendid game as sweeper making some timely tackles and Newman Snr saved the day when he stopped a goalbound shot on the line.
This was an excellent all round performance by the team.
