Plymouth Lockie Cup Tavistock seconds 32 Tamar Saracens 14 DESPITE several enforced changes Tavistock proved too strong for another Plymouth based side, Tamar Saracens, in this quarter final. Tavistock dominated the match for long periods but the visitors defended stoutly and neither side managed to create any clearcut openings until after 30 minutes, when a fly-hacked clearance by the visitors went straight to Tavistock centre Simon Braithwaite, who ran in the first try from 40 metres. Martin Credicott landed a penalty soon after, to give Tavistock a half-time lead of 8-0. Tavistock scored a fine try within two minutes of the restart. A flowing handling move, ended with flanker Tony Worle crashing over under the posts. The visitors hit back and scored a converted try of their own a few minutes later. Credicott then kicked another penalty for Tavistock and this was soon followed by a try from lock Lee Easton on the end of a forward drive. After losing their hooker with a dislocated ankle, the visitors struck back with a converted try from their flyhalf, but the final word went to the home side, with replacement centre Cas Williams finishing off another good handling move to score Tavistock's fourth try. Credicott converted all three second half tries. This was another good all round team performance by Tavistock. Bruce Fulton showed up well at scrum-half and centre Ollie Larcombe was prominant both in attack and defence. Gareth Puttock was dominant in the lineout and forwards Jo Pook; Tony Worle and Lee Easton were a handful for the visitors all afternoon. There was a welcome re-appearence from veteran prop John Wakem.
