Okehampton Men's A 9
Bridgwater Men's D 0
AFTER a scrappy start to the match, the home soon found their rhythm of fluid hockey with good wide play from Toby Lloyd, Adam Cockanye, Stuart Jarvis and Rob Yells started to carve up chances for forwards Chris Searle and Jake Lloyd, and it seemed only a matter of time before they would convert one of the chances.
Toby Lloyd got his and Okehampton's first of the match driving the ball into the top corner after a good cross from Jarvis.
After the goal both teams struggled to keep possession with the weather conditions hampering both teams and the half finished 1-0.
The second half showed a marked improvement from the home side, with a revamp in the midfield, Jake Lloyd playing an integral part, and it only took five minutes for Okehampton to extend their lead with Jake Lloyd scoring one and Toby Lloyd completing hat trick midway through the half.
Okehampton were now starting to enjoy their hockey with Dave Dennis, John Cross, Mike Reynolds, Adam Cockanye and man of the match Rob Yells all getting in the scoring act.
Bridgwater did have spells of possession but with Ian Miller, John Yells, Will Spry and Keith Webber in good form, Bridgwater were unable to get a shot until the final five minutes, which was easily saved by keeper Pete Sim to preserve the clean sheet.
This was the third successive win for Okehampton Seconds, scoring close to 30 goals in the process.
This week, Okehampton's form and abilities will be tested against top of the table Yeovil and Sherborne D.
