FIREFIGHTERS are warning people not to leave cooking appliances on when they go out following a kitchen fire in Tavistock. Tavistock Fire and Rescue Service attended the blaze at the Old Iron Foundry in Mount Tavy Road recently and used two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish it. The occupant discovered the fire when she returned from shopping and alerted firefighters. Minor smoke damage was caused.
