THE North Devon Walking and Cycling Festival on the May Day weekend included four of the Ruby Country Trails, Germansweek, Tetcott, Sheepwash and Hatherleigh.
The weather, despite having been forecast as wet and windy, held off and allowed for some splendid views to be enjoyed by all and a comfortable walking atmosphere.
Mother Nature had put on one of her best displays and the fields and hedges of wildflowers were a sight to be seen.
The walks attracted 55 people and seven dogs over the four days, coming from as far away as Kent, Leicester, Cambridge, Bristol, Wiltshire and Cardiff as well as locally from Ashwater and Broadwoodwidger.
The new dog stiles were a great success and were remarked on by one of the dog owners as a great idea.
Some experienced walkers who took part in the Tetcott trail were moved to comment on the beauty and tranquillity of the walk route and said it was one of the most beautiful they had been on.
