ROMANIAN rural development experts will visit West Devon next week, to learn how community regeneration projects have responded to Foot and Mouth and other issues.
The party of 16, including government and World Bank officials, will attend a presentation and meet staff at environmental charity WestDEN?s Tavistock offices on Monday (June 16).
The visiting dignitaries are responsible for supporting projects that tackle the widespread poverty Romania suffered at the end of the communist era.
They have a busy itinerary, which includes visits to Hatherleigh and the ?Proper Job? Co-op at Chagford, as well as meeting representatives from the SW Rural Development Agency.
WestDEN has links with organisations in several countries as part of its Rural Links project, which creates opportunities for organisations to learn from each other?s techniques and experience.
