EXCERPTS from the Gilbert and Sullivan operas were performed in Bere Ferrers St Andrew?s church to a packed out audience last month. The Plymouth Gilbert and Sullivan Fellowship opened with rollicking excerpts from The Gondoliers, The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado. The trio, Sue, Karen and Ray also performed the Regular Royal Queen from the Gondoliers and numbers from Trial by Jury and Yeoman of the Guard. The finale of both the Mikado and the Gondoliers brought the performance to a resounding crescendo. The choir then returned for an encore featuring the dance from The Gondoliers. The evening was organised by Monica Mitchell, Bob Turner, Jonathon Watts and Jenny Shepley. Mr Turner expressed thanks to the ladies and gentlemen of the choir, Mr Watts, Mrs Mitchell, the Rector Nick Law and the audience. The event was organised to raise funds for a second gig for Tavy and Tamar Gig Club.
