HUNDREDS of people have so far taken part in West Devon's planning roadshows to discuss how the borough could look in 2026. The council's forward planning team has taken crucial proposals on the Local Development Framework out into West Devon communities. The framework is a critical document as it is the basis for all future planning decisions and proposals in the borough for the next 18 years. Already the roadshows have been held in North Tawton, Hatherleigh and Okehampton. Future shows are scheduled for Tavistock on February 14, with further dates in Hatherleigh, Lifton, North Tawton, Okehampton and Tavistock. Chris Dunford, West Devon's planning policy manager, said he was pleased with the response of residents so far. 'The level of interest shown by the people of West Devon in the future of their area is really good to see. We have had some very positive discussions which will help the borough council decide its final strategy.' Cllr Diana Moyse, chairman of the borough council's future planning and housing committee, said: 'It is important to us that our residents attend the roadshows and make their views known.'
