UP and coming band Relentless will be wowing fans at Tavistock?s Parklife music festival next month, thanks to a sponsorship deal with a West Devon pub. Relentless, a four-piece outfit which originated in the Tavistock area, are currently finishing an album and are attracting major record label interest. Sue Callow, of the Rock Inn at Yelverton, said she was pleased to be able to support the band ? and the Parklife festival. She said: ?My children went to the college and I?m happy to support the ideas for improved music facilities that the new headmaster is bringing forward. ?Anyway, Relentless are a great band!? The band?s founder drummer, ?Jack TC?, said recent gigs for the band had been ?amazing?. ?Playing at the Hawkfest near Preston was great and doing our first dates in Europe was something else,? he said. ?Three of us were students at Tavistock College a while back and it?ll be cool, if a little surreal, to be closing a festival in the grounds there. ?It?s excellent that the Rock is sponsoring us for the Parklife picnic. The Rock is second home for us when we are around!? Parklife, a day-long festival of live music to suit all ages and tastes, takes place on Sunday July 2 at Tavistock College. The big event, which will launch a major fundraising campaign to pay for state-of-the-art music performance and recording facilities for use by the school and wider community, involves more than 12 live bands and promises to be a fabulous day out for all the family. Tickets, costing £5, are available from the school, Tavistock Tourist Information Office and Bookstop in Tavistock.
