Okehampton Argyle thirds 4 Amory Argyle 1 Okehampton bounced back after last week's disappointing defeat away at Beacon Knights. After a cagey start by both sides, Argyle's John Coakley found himself clear through and the Amory goalkeeper came off his line quickly and fouled the forward just outside the box; however Richard Eddy was unable to make the most of the freekick. Okehampton continued to push for the opening goal and were well protected by centre backs Jamie Back and Ben Woodhouse, both having outstanding games. The home side were rewarded when an excellent cross from Chris Hollands found Richard Eddy, whose powerful header gave the keeper no chance. Okehampton continued to attack with Ricky Wooldridge and Shane Monnox both creating problems for Amory with their pace and dribbling ability. The visitors pulled a goal back when a rare error at the back saw the Amory striker clean through on goal, his powerful shot gave Neil Clift no chance. This made the game much more open. Okehampton committed men forward and were rewarded when a Woodhouse flick on was directed in to the net by Chris Hollands to make it 2-1 to Okehampton at half time. Amory started the second half with increased enthusiasm and nearly found an equaliser with a fantastic long range effort that cannoned off the bar. They continued to push for a second goal but rarely came close thanks to a great performance from the back four and Richard Eddy in midfield. As Amory continued to chase the game Okehampton were able to hit them on the counter attack with John Coakley going close before Shane Monnox raced clear to fire Okehampton into a 3 -1 lead. Monnox capped off a fine performance with his second off the game, a fine 25 yard drive in to the bottom corner of the net to give Okehampton a 4-1 victory.
