AFTER a good response to the feature in the Times regarding the 50th Anniversary of the destruction of Walkham Viaduct, I write again to request more help. I have been researching the deliberate run-down of the Southern Region in Devon and Cornwall by the Western Region since they were handed it back in 1960. Has anyone photos of the Tavistock North to Okehampton lines, or information regarding the closure and its demolition since 1968? One person to contact the Times was a Matthew Boon but his e-mail address was wrong so I couldn't reply to him. I have read a very instructive book by John Nicholas and George Reeve called The Okehampton Line that has some excellant black and white photographs. It didn't tell me the real story behind the obliteration of Lydford Stations. Mike Manning [email protected]">[email protected] 65 Lower Chapel Lane Frampton Cotterell Bristol BS36 2RQ
