REPAIR work to the wall of the stairwell at the Co-operative store on Brook Street is due to be completed within the next month.
The stairwell has been closed off to the public for more than a month causing customers and residents of the town to find another route.
A spokesperson from the Co-operative said: 'We are aware of the issue with the wall of the stairs leading to our Brook Street store in Tavistock, and we have been working to resolve this for some time.
'It has taken longer than we initially hoped, but we would like to reassure local people that the repair work will be complete in coming weeks. We apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.'
