A DIVERSE exhibition run by a group of local quilters is being staged at Tavistock Town Hall, starting today (Thursday). The theme of the exhibition, which runs until September 13, is 'Renew, Re-use and Refresh' and has been organised by members of Goosey Quilters. Members have contributed to the double bed quilt which will be raffled in aid of Brain Tumour Research. The winning ticket will be drawn by West Devon and Torridge MP Geoffrey Cox. The exhibition on Thursday will be open from noon to 4.30pm, on Friday from 10am to 4.30pm and on Saturday from 9.30am to 4pm. Throughout the event there will be light refreshments and sales tables available. Admission is £2. l The group has been in existence for 28 years and still meet on the first and third Thursday evenings at Tavistock Methodist Church Hall to sew and quilt. The group has made quilts for children from Chenobyl, and small quilts for the paediatric and maternity unit at Derriford Hospital. Both visitors and new members are welcome to the group.
