THE Friends of Throwleigh Church will host a concert of ragtime, boogie-woogie and classic jazz presented by the duo Original Rags on Saturday, July 5. Mike Denham and Steve Graham will revisit the classic ragtime of Scott Joplin, popular melodies by Fats Waller and Irving Berlin, boogie-woogie by the likes of Albert Ammons and Pete Johnson, and the hot jazz of Louis Armstrong and Bix Beiderbecke, all mixed with entertaining anecdotes. Steve Graham is a highly acclaimed musician fluent on both trumpet and mandolin, while Mike Denham is a fine solo pianist and occasional exponent of the swanee whistle.
