Knockout Cup third round
Lanreath 3
Lamerton 0
LAMERTON bowed out of the cup on a boggy pitch at Lanreath. Playing with the wind in the first half they got off to a terrible start when Fran Tucker hooked the ball in from close range following a corner.
The visitors battled back well and came close when Kev Swift headed just over the bar and a Zak Beesley header from a Paul Breyley free kick was disallowed for offside.
The home side effectively killed off the game at the start of the second half when John Tapper scored with a free kick as the Lamerton defence were still arranging the wall. Andy Collins got a third to complete the scoring.
This Saturday sees Lamerton at home to Horrabridge in the quarter-final of the Devon Intermediate Cup, kick-off 2pm.
