AN AFTERNOON of fun for the whole family with puppets and minibeasts is planned at St Andrew's Primary School at Buckland Monachorum on Saturday, October 24.

Jacolly Puppet Theatre presents Dogsworthy Summer Magic, followed by a family walk with local artist Jennie Hale to find all sorts of minibeasts. The children will have a chance, afterwards, to produce some artwork.

The walk will take an hour and will include following a stream. Participants are asked to wear suitable clothing and shoes and bring plastic bags or a magnifying glass to take a closer peek at bugs and plants along the way. No dogs are allowed on this walk.

The afternoon will be rounded off with tea, juice and biscuits and a wormery and compost display.

The event starts at 1pm and is suitable for children over four. Tickets available on the day at the school cost £3.50 for adults and £2 for children with a family ticket £10.

Drake's Dartmoor is organising the event to celebrate the International Day of Climate Change and the launch of the Tamar Trail Festival.
