OKEHAMPTON’S MP Mel Stride has urged people living in the area to take advantage of a scheme offering connection vouchers worth up to £500 to residents and businesses struggling with low broadband speeds to help cover the cost of connecting to an improved broadband service.

Mr Stride said: ‘Poor internet speeds hold businesses back, hinder social mobility and make it more difficult for those looking for work to find opportunities to get back into employment.

‘I urge residents and businesses in my constituency who are struggling with speeds below 2Mpbs to seriously look at whether this scheme could benefit them.’
