POLICE are asking for information concerning an incident in Horrabridge which led to the death of a lurcher dog.

At approximately 6pm on November 7 the door of a kennel which housed two lurcher dogs in the front garden of a house in The Green area of Horrabridge was taken off by an intruder and the gate to the garden opened.

The two dogs escaped and ran onto the moors. One was safely recaptured by the owner in the Peak Hill area, but the other was run over in the same area by a car that did not stop, and was killed.
