POLICE in Tavistock are appealing for witnesses after an incident in the Bishopsmead area.

Sgt Dave Anning of Tavistock Police said a man approached another man in the housing estate at around 6.15pm on Thursday, March 5. An exchange took place between the two men that left one of them feeling very uncomfortable and, due to some special needs, police will be arranging a specialist officer to obtain more details.

Sgt Anning said investigating officer PC Thompson was trying to identify a man who was cycling around the area at the time on a grey mountain bike.

Sgt Anning said: 'The man is thought to be 16-20 years old, around six feet tall and of thin build with brown hair.

'He was wearing jeans and a blue top. It is quite likely he is local and may cycle there often so if you know him please contact PC Thompson using 101.'
