POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two dogs attacked a sheep near Yelverton Aerodrome on Sunday at about 11.20am.

Police say two women, believed to have been using a maroon Peugeot hatchback, arrived at the aerodrome and had three mastiff-style dogs with them.

Two of the dogs chased a sheep into bushes on the Pound to Crapstone road and attacked the animal. A passing male motorist, whose identity is not known, fought the dogs off. The sheep was left badly bloodied.
