POLICE are appealing for the driver of a vehicle to come forward, following an accident in which a motorcyclist died on the A386 at Bearslake on Saturday.
Peter Hackworthy, 54, from Tamerton Foliot, Plymouth, died after his black Yamaha was in collision with a red Vauxhall Cavalier at 6.15pm.
Police are appealing for the driver of a car towing a caravan or a camper van which was travelling from Okehampton to Tavistock and which passed through Bearslake around the time of the accident to contact them.
The vehicle was not directly involved in the incident but the driver may have witnessed an overtaking manoeuvre which may give police vital clues as to how the accident happened.
Mr Hackworthy?s pillion passenger is in a stable condition at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.
The four occupants of the car escaped with minor injuries.
