A NEW baby and toddler group had its first meeting last Thursday and was a huge success thanks to a grant of just under £4,000. The group, Playbox, which meets at Tavistock United Reformed Church, was set up to accommodate the growth in the number of children in Tavistock. Lisa Dasher, organiser of the group, said: ?Tavistock is growing all the time. Most the toddler groups have a long waiting list, and when I was heavily pregnant I knew I wouldn?t get in a group in time.? While pregnant she applied for a grant from Devon Community Foundation to help set up the group, and received a total of £3,696. Lisa is using the money to buy brand new equipment and play toys for the youngsters. ?The group is going really well. We have had a really good response that we are now even having to start our own waiting list,? said Lisa.
