LAMERTON Village Hall entered into the Christmas spirit by continuing to raise money towards its new playground equipment.
The first event was the hamper draw, which showed a staggering £420 clear profit. The winners were Sarah Robbins, Julie Hibbert’s cat Nero and Tricia Malone. All were delighted with their prizes, especially Nero, although he is believed to be having some difficulty opening the tins.
The Lewtrenchard Manor afternoon tea voucher was won by Margaret Manning — a popular draw which raised £99.
The second event was Christmas bingo during which Kath Davey held a draw for her knitted snowmen. This raised a further £65 and was won by Barbara Dawe from Lamerton.
Hall chairman Ian Minshull said that the hall had had a very enjoyable lead up to Christmas and he thanked everyone who had contributed to raising almost £600 in further funds for enhancing the playground equipment.
