A PLAN for a rear conservatory and open sided canopy at the Riverside Post Office and Stores in Bridestowe has been given the go ahead.
West Devon Borough Council planners gave the green light to the application at a meeting on Monday. The decision was previously deferred following an objection by Highways.
The wooden, painted conservatory will measure roughly four square metres. And the slate-roofed canopy, supported by timber posts, will provide shelter for groceries displayed outside the front of the store on Fore Street.
Planning permission was granted on condition that the conservatory be constructed of soft wood and painted, and that the slate to be used for the canopy be approved by the council before work starts.
