HATHERLEIGH Pink Ladies hosted its annual late summer ball last weekend at Madewell Farm.
This year’s ball, which had a safari theme, raised a massive £19,000 for various causes. Party-goers donned their best fancy dress and enjoyed a three course meal, canapés, drinks, entertainment and dancing.
Formed nine years ago, Hatherleigh Pink Ladies is a group of women who raise money for worthy charities.
This year all the proceeds from the ball are going to Okehampton Rugby Club, Hatherleigh Silver Band, NEPAL-ease, which supports projects in Nepal, Hatherleigh players and the Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF).
The Hatherleigh Pink Ladies is also running an ongoing silent auction with lots including several holidays, a buffet lunch for 30 people, a hamper made up of donations from Okehampton’s shops, an oil painting, cookery class and spa weekend.
See this week’s Okehampton Times, out on Thursday, for more pictures from the event.
