OKEHAMPTON United Charity has announced the launch of a new family support and counselling project within Okehampton and Okehampton Hamlets.
The charity is making £30,000 available for a year-long pilot project to support families in Okehampton and offer free counselling. If the project is successful funding for subsequent years may be released.
Organisations wishing to apply for the funding will need to demonstrate that they are able to deliver a quality service which includes two days’ worth of qualified family support to include a triage service to access the free counselling sessions to be provided eight hours a week.
A detailed application will need to show how they will provide good value for money, a safe and positive working environment, assurance that there will be strategies in place to enable families of all backgrounds to gain access to the services offered on an equal basis and that they are able to operate as a free standing body with the necessary DBS checks and liability insurance.
Applications that can attract additional funding from elsewhere, make good use of existing facilities and resources in Okehampton, make good use of volunteers and cater for as many people as possible would be looked upon favourable.
Partnership applications with more than one organisation bidding to provide differing services are welcome.
