WITH the very wet weather, little golf has been played recently. But Okehampton Golf Club ladies' section did play their Par competition on October 11 and the stableford on the 18th.
Marcia Jones won the Par with a level score, a good round indeed, with the ground as wet as it is.
Jenni Hutchinson was second with -2, winning on the back 6 from Lyn Atkinson. There were 12 entrants on this day.
The entries were better for the stableford, which had 18 entries, this was won by Amanda Clifford with a creditable 33 points, second by countback on the back 9 was Marcia Holwill, third place was won by Jenni Hutchinson, scoring 32.
The Daily Mail Foursomes was played on October 25, still wet underfoot, but reasonable dry overhead.
This is a medal foursomes, and the victors were Marcia Jones and Trish Vick, with net 78 and a half, winning by half of a point from Jenni Hutchinson and Sue Glanville, who scored net 79.
As can be seen by all these close finishes, competition is flourishing at Okehampton.
