Okehampton U10s 30 Barnstaple U10s 25 AFTER a couple of weeks under-achieving, Okehampton were back to their best. Playing a Barnstaple team containing nine under elevens, Okehampton started well, scoring tries by Giles Heard (2), Luke Liversidge (2) and one apiece from Josh Bickley and Alfie Hawker. The forwards? rucking and mauling against a much larger pack was outstanding, led by Callum Pillavent and Ike Francis, driving Barnstaple backwards time after time. John Aylen and Josh Punchard cleaned up loose ball, getting it out to the backs. Will Cooper, Giles Heard and Luke Liversidge attacked with pace and kept the ball alive. Kieren Lee, Louis Day and Edward Penrose were always backing up in attack and tackled well in defence. OKEHAMPTON U9s rugby team played a great game this Sunday against Barnstaple, winning 25-5. They really stepped up their play, even though the conditions were treacherous underfoot and it rained constantly. The boys played a fantastic team game, defending brilliantly and really committing themselves to all aspects of play. Okehampton U8s 70 Barnstaple U8s 70 BOTH sides put on a superb defensive display with good passing and teamwork and lots of energy. Okehampton did some good tagging, playing well throughout the remainder of the game to equalise on the final whistle. Tries were scored by: Brandon Horn, 6, Reece Peacock, 6, Scott Donaldson, Robbie Bell. Okehampton U7s 45 Barnstaple 35 OKEHAMPTON won away to Barnstaple this week. They played well again, scoring a try in the first few minutes of the match and then worked really hard to maintain their lead in very wet, cold and muddy conditions. This week?s try scorers were Ross, Freddy, Leon, Jack and George. Okehampton U7s 50 Devonport U7s 20 OKEHAMPTON had scored three very quick tries at the beginning of the match before Devonport started to fight back. Okehampton scored another try with Devonport then scoring two. Okehampton scored again to bring the score to 25-10 at half time. The boys ran, tagged and defended well in the second half - scoring a further five tries to Devonport?s two. The try scorers were Joe, Ross, Harry, Leon, Freddy and Brendan.
