OKEHAMPTON town councillors got out of the council chamber this week and held their parks committee meeting in front of the putting green in Simmons Park.
The unconventional move gave councillors a chance to see for themselves various areas of the park which were on the agenda for discussion, including the concept plan for the whole area.
The meeting took place on Monday evening. Councillors agreed to invite three architects to attend a future meeting of the committee to outline their ideas for a scheme to create a shelter or bandstand in Simmons Park.
