FOR the fifth year running, David and Jenny Miles are opening their Crapstone garden to the public in aid of the Children's Hospice South West.

The couple are professional gardeners renowned for their green-fingered skills and this once-a-year opportunity to see their gem of a private garden this Sunday is a real treat for enthusiasts and beginners alike.

The garden is in the centre of the village, opposite the Village Hairdresser and will be open from 11am to 5pm. Plants will be on sale and afternoon teas served.

Admission is £1.25 for adults and 50p for children. Sorry — no dogs.

Free off-road parking is available by permission of Buckland Cricket Club.

The event has been organised by the Buckland Monachorum Area Friends Group, led by chairman Linda Downing. The £1.5-million annual running costs for the Barnstaple-based hospice are largely met by voluntary contributions and fundraising.
