AFTER ten days of re-furbishments the popular St Luke's Hospice shop in Brook Street, Tavistock, was opened to the public, featuring a fresh new look.

The charity shop was opened by Tavistock mayor Cllr Mandy Govier on Thursday in front of the many dedicated volunteers and staff.

The work saw updates completed to the inside of the shop to give more selling space.

Marilyn Beverley, head of retail, who attended the opening ceremony, said how proud she was of everyone at the Tavistock shop for all their hard work.

She said: 'On behalf of St Luke's I would just like to pay tribute to the team as they have worked so hard, especially Eric, who has been here six years as a volunteer.

'If it wasn't for the dedicated volunteers this would not have happened.'
