OLYMPIC pentathlon bronze medalist Kate Allenby took time out from her hectic training schedule to open the new gym at Browns Hotel, Tavistock, last week.
Kate unveiled a plaque commemorating the gym launch and her achievements. The development has taken three months to complete.
The hotel hopes the gymnasium, equipped with all the latest fitness equipment, will help attract young business people from who are interested in fitness and want a top-class gym available when they book in at a hotel.
Kate, who won her bronze medal at the Sydney Olympics, has set herself a new target of competing in the Commonwealth Fencing Championships which take place in Australia this November. Browns have agreed to help with sponsorship, to assist towards the cost of Kate's trip to the competition.
