COMPUTERS destined for the scrap heap are being sought by Okehampton Rotary Club in order to help people in Africa get the education they might not otherwise receive.
The Rotary Club is collecting any old, redundant computers, even if they do not work anymore.
They will be shipped off to Africa where they will be restored to health and distributed to communities who need them.
Rotary Club president Allenton Fisher is pictured with some of the computers ready to be shipped overseas.
He said: 'We have already sent one consignment to Africa and are now looking to collect enough for a second shipment.
'This is such a perfect example of recycling — saving landfills and helping the very poor in Africa.'
Anyone who has a computer to donate can bring it to Okehampton Glass on North Road, Okehampton.
