A DOG trainer from the Okehampton area has returned triumphant from her best-ever Crufts with a clutch of rosettes.

Lauren Langman came back from the most prestigious event in the UK doggie calendar with no fewer than three firsts and six seconds.

She took five dogs to the event at the Birmingham NEC from March 7-10.

Lauren based at East Bowerland Farm near Sourton, said: ‘All the dogs we had there did really really well. Last year we came home with six rosettes, so to get nine this year is amazing. Most people would be overjoyed with just one.

‘I absolutely love Crufts. For me it is the most important one-day event because it showcases the best of the best. It takes a lot of work to qualify in the first place and when you get there you have to do perfectly to be placed.’

Her cocker spaniel Blink joined her on the podium after she and Lauren won the first place in the small Crufts single class.

Collie Style meanwhile won the large championship jumping class.

Lauren trained them on the new astro-turf arena at East Bowerland Farm.

‘It was quite incredible, I want to do it all over again,’ she said.
