ON a wet and windy Sunday morning 35 hardy souls compted in North Devon Wheelers (NDW) Stags Head Road Race at South Molton.
The atrocious conditions soon had many riders suffering and dropping out of the race. Unfortunately NDW?s only entrant Steve Sage was one of many to make an early exit from the race to take comfort in the warmth of the changing rooms.
The gruelling race was won by the Somerset-based rider Mark Perry (FS Maestro) who just beat Andrew Parker (Mid Devon C.C) into second place in a tight four-man sprint for the line.
NDW are organising their annual 32-mile Round the Houses time trial this weekend and all entrants will be hoping for kinder conditions than last weekend.
