Palladium Builders East Cornwall Division one Nanpean Rovers 1 Bere Alston United 0 NANPEAN thoroughly deserved this victory over an inept Bere Alston side who were never really in the game. The home side started well and Glynn James was twice put through by Roy Barnicle only to see one shot go wide and the other saved by Bere keeper Craig Howells. Howells then saved an Andrew Avery free kick before denying a Jack French power header. Nanpean scored the goal they deserved in the second half when Roy Barnicle headed in a Dan Eden cross at the near post. Howells then saved another low drive from Avery. Bere then had their best spell of the game as they threw everything forward in the last 10 minutes, but Nanpean managed to hold on to the three points. l On Saturday Bere are away to St Blazey, kick-ff 2.30pm. Tavistock Seconds 1 Bude 0 Tavistock took the lead in the 15th minute when Jamie Martin controlled a right wing cross and fired home. Tavistock seemed to take their foot off the pedal as Bude put on the pressure, missing several chances in both halves. Home goalkeeper Richard Rowe pulled off a superb save, denying the visitors an equaliser.
