A FAIR number of supporters turned out to watch this game and in return both teams gave an entertaining first half with Calstock scoring an early goal after a shot from Adz Baker was spilled by the keeper and Nick Tilbury followed up.
A quarter of an hour into the game Calstock were down to ten men. Callington took advantage and used it well. Calstock dug in at the back with Jason Hewitt pulling out all the stops but could not stop Callington from scoring.
The referee had to have treatment for a serious calf injury and managed to carry on until half-time.
Callington took the lead just before the whistle with a penalty.
Callington found a substitute referee.
Ian Cook had an outstanding game in midfield, cutting out many attacks.
Calstock?s defence fought hard against the onslaught. Keeper Michael Yarwood pulled of an outstanding one-handed save, which he touched on to the crossbar.
A hotly contested penalty was awarded and after that Callington coasted home comfortably against a still determined nine-man Calstock.
