TAVISTOCK?S Plymouth Road cemetery chapel and gatehouse have been restored and converted and visitors are invited to view the new facilities. The town council has just completed the chapel restoration, and the small toilet block has been modernised and upgraded to meet disabled standards. The gatehouse storeroom has been converted into a public waiting room and home for the book of remembrance. The cemetery will be open to all on Thursday, September 14 with staff present from 9.30am to 4.30pm to allow visitors to see the new-look facilities, which councillors believe contribute to it being one of the best maintained cemeteries in the South West.
