OKEHAMPTON Police has a new Facebook page, being regularly updated by new neighbourhood beat manager PC Nathan Walker.

He hopes the page will encourage the public to share information about things that concern them in the community. The page can be found by typing ‘okehampton police’ into the Facebook search bar.

‘It is a way of exchanging information between us and the public,’ he said. ‘The message we want to get out is that if people don’t tell us what the problems are, we can’t fix them.’

The two neighbourhood beat managers covering the Okehampton patch — a wide rural area around the town, taking in Meeth in the north and Chagford in the east — are Nathan and his colleague PC Nadine Wilson, led by Sgt Pennie Channing as neighbourhood team leader from this week. They are supported by PCSOs Lisa Smith and Marcus Jarvis.
