AN OKEHAMPTON College student has been selected to represent England in the Indoor Home International Athletics competition this weekend.

Sixth form student Rebecca Chapman (pictured left) will be entering the competition which will be held in Glasgow.

Rebecca will be competing in the pentathlon competition against athletes from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The keen athlete, who already has a string of successful sporting achievements behind her, finished fifth in the English Schools Heptathlon competition, sixth in the hurdles in the UK School Games and is South West champion in the Heptathlon.

She is also the hurdles and county champion in the javelin and 100 metres.
