ONE of the largest social groups in the South West is appealing for even more members to get involved.

The Devon Social Group, based in the Tavistock area, is an organisation dedicated to having fun.

Cathy Dent, DSG senior co-ordinator, said: 'We would like more members in the 20, 30 and 40-age group.

'We are not a dating agency — we want to encourage people to come out and make friends, not sit at home alone watching the television.'

Cathy said the group is a good way to meet new friends and is particularly handy for those who have just moved into the West Devon area.

The next big event DSG is organising is a Murder Mystery evening at the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock on Hallow'een evening.

Other events include visits to the theatre, local pubs and restaurants, walking trips and even foreign holidays.

The group also offers discounts on entry to a wide range of companies like Meadowlands in Tavistock, the Theatre Royal in Plymouth, Paignton Zoo and many more.
